Anthony T. Newsome

Anthony T. NEWSOME October 30, 1958 - August 1, 2003 Anthony T. Newsome was born on October 30th, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri. "Tony" as he was known by his family and friends, received his early education at St. Rose Catholic Elementary School and Webster Grove High School. He later completed both a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Boston University and a Masters Degree in Finance from New York University. Tony's professional career began with International Business Machines (IBM) in July 1981 as a Staff Programmer in Armonk, New York. Over the course of his IBM career, he provided database systems designs for branch office marketing applications, developed technology strategies for application architectures, decision support systems, and artificial intelligence systems. Tony continued his career at SEER Technologies, where he managed the start-up of new consulting service offerings for worldwide delivery. In 1995, he transitioned his career to the Independent IT consulting field. In 1997, Tony joined the Microsoft team where he had many major accomplishments, won frequent awards, and was highly regarded by his colleagues. In 1993, Tony married Tracey Banks. They were blessed with two children, Andrew age nine and Elliot age seven. As a family they enjoyed little league, soccer, basketball, white water rafting, and the close company of family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan. Tony was active in Black Data Processing Association and his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha. His philanthropic charities included Technology Access Foundation, Northwest Behavioral Associates and the Kindering Center. His quick smile and dry sense of humor endeared him to all. Tony leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Tracey, his sons Andrew and Elliot, his mother Barbara, his in-laws Edna and Al Allen, and a multitude of extended family and close friends. May the love in our hearts comfort us in our sorrow. Viewing will be held Friday, August 8, 2003, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the service at 1 p.m. at Chapel of the Resurrection Funeral Home, on the grounds of Cedar Park Church, 16300 112th Ave. N.E., Bothell. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum.
