Cornelia Kelley Obituary

Cornelia Ann KELLEY Cornelia (Nina) passed away Saturday at her home in Seattle after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Nina, a noted artist, lived with her husband, screenwriter William (Bill) Kelley (May 27, 1929-February 3, 2003), in the Eastern Sierra for several decades. Nina graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (1954) and pursued a career in textile design in NYC and San Francisco. Later, she, Bill, and their two daughters, lived in Malibu and Mammoth Lakes, where she took up watercolors. A leading member of the Eastern Sierra Art League, Nina showed her work in several local galleries. In recent years, Nina divided her time between Seattle, home of daughter Maura, and Bishop. She lived always with grace, dignity and profound kindness. Survivors include sister Nancy and brother-in-law Wayne, daughters Maura and Shaun, sons-in-law Steve and Jibran, granddaughter Madeleine, and grandsons Tariq and Ramzi, plus countless friends and admirers. Donations may be made in memorial to the American Cancer Society.

I will miss seeing Nina and helping her with her banking needs. She was always such an optimistic woman with an adorable demeanor and beautiful smile. She will definitely be missed by many and especially our branch.
