Russell Edward BRADLEY Russell Edward Bradley, 83,of Tukwila, Washington, died peacefully on June 24 in Seattle, with his devoted wife Jacqueline Carroll at his side. Born in Nashville, TN, at 17, he enlisted in the Navy and served as a signalman in the South Pacific in WWII. He graduated from the Harris School of Advertising Art in Nashville and built a career as an art director for aerospace companies. In the 1950s, he helped found two Unitarian fellowships in Alabama and Tennessee. An accomplished artist, Russell was a member of the Philadelphia and American Watercolor Societies and won numerous awards and blue ribbons. After living in eastern Washington, where he worked as an artist at the Hanford Site and as adjunct art professor at Columbia Basin College, he came to Seattle in 1986 where he taught art classes and was a Tukwila art commissioner for more than 12 years. Known for his deep voice, generous nature, sharp mind and dry humor, Russell was truly one of a kind. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Carroll; his children, Lee (wife Maggie) Bradley, Leslie Bradley Ayres, Rebecca Bradley Gleeson, and Sean Bradley; his sister Carleen Narnst; and his grandchildren: Emily Ayres, Caroline Gleeson and Samuel Gleeson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vance Bradley. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tukwila Historical Society, 14475 59th Avenue South, Tukwila, WA 98188. A celebration of Russell's life will be held at the Tukwila Community Center on Friday July 9 from 5-8:00 pm. The funeral will be at 10 am Monday July 12 at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
