Gordon Thomas Parker, 73, of Sedalia, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on February 15, 1937 in Pettis County, a son of Robert and Mary Cochran Parker.
On July 22, 1962, in Beaman, Mo, he was united in marriage to Janet Nelson, who survives of the home.
He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, and was in the Korean War 1954-1957. He was a member of the American Legion Post #642 of Sedalia.
Besides his wife, he is survived by: three daughters, Tersea Rhoads and her husband Chris of Sedalia, Pam Lawson and her husband David of Houstonia and Sharon Hill and her husband David of Sedalia; three sisters, Betty Craig of Windsor, Emma Jean Meblin of Peculiur and Marie McGinnis of Sedalia; four brothers, Edward Parker, Richard Parker, Paul Parker, and Larry Parker all of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Leanna, Kelia, Christopher, Harold and Holly; Three great grandchildren, Raline, David and Kaylin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Annette Ray.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Rev. Ray McDonald officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 2591 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mt. Herman Cemetery at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Mt. Herman Cemetery, Kidney Foundation or Charity of Donor's Choice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
