It is with broken hearts that the family of David Wilkinson announces his passing on February 3, 2019 at the age of 62.

He fought a brief but grueling battle with esophageal cancer and passed away at his home with his wife and sons by his side.

David, known to friends as Dave or DW, was born on May 24, 1956 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the second born son of the late Ben and Wanda (Wells) Wilkinson.

David was a free spirit and entrepreneur and he spent his life exploring many different businesses and enjoying his passions, including boats, horses and motorcycles. He was brash, fun-loving and generous, and he never met a stranger. He met his wife-to-be, Toni Moore, when she began working for him at Five Oaks Riding Stables in Pigeon Forge. They married in 1992 and spent their life together moving to new places, starting new businesses and having adventures.

David is survived by his wife of 26 years, Toni; his sons, Scott (Christy), John (Jatina), and Nick; his brother, Tom; his Aunt Linda; five grandchildren-Kevin, Kaylee, Emma, Nolan and Adam; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held at Northwest Church of God at 5320 Pleasant Ridge Road, Knoxville, TN on Saturday, February 9th at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 2-3 with service to follow.
