KAREN LAUFER

Karen Freeman Laufer Karen passed away May 2, 2012, in Medford, Oregon. She was born in Grants Pass, Oregon, on September 19, 1933. Karen previously resided in Vacaville, Ca for the last 4 years and San Francisco, Ca for 50 years. Karen grew up in Yreka, Ca where she attended school and graduated from Yreka High School. She graduated from City College in San Francisco. Karen was a member of the Photochrome Photography Club in San Francisco and the Light Writers Photography Club in Vacaville. She won numerous awards in both clubs for her photography. Karen worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco for several years and was a real estate broker for 40 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. Karen was preceded in death by her parents Rue & Velma Freeman of Yreka, Ca., brothers Alan R (Timer) Freeman of Yreka, Ca and Melvin (Prop) Freeman of Medford, OR, nephew Lance Freeman of Yreka, Ca. She is survived by an uncle Carlton (Sonny) Allen of Yreka, Ca, nephews Floyd Freeman of Redding, Ca and Paul Freeman of Yreka, CA, nieces Kari Freeman Wood of Central Point, OR and Kathy Freeman Bowers of Reno, NV, cousin Bette Newland of Medford, OR. She is also survived by Ted Laufer, and sisters in law, Marylen Brewer and Laura Freeman of Medford, OR, Selma George of Yreka, Ca and Willma Hannah of St Cloud, Mn. Karen also leaves behind many good friends and memories made throughout her lifetime in the San Francisco Bay Area and elsewhere. Private services will be held Monday. Girdner's Funeral Chapel in Yreka is in charge of arrangements. Please make donations to your favorite charity.
