Loving wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully on April 5, 2013 from a brief illness. Her strong spirit is survived by her daughter, Denise Young, son Michael Forese, son-in-law Michael Young; grandchildren Michael Young, his wife Gabby, and Jeffrey Young; she is also survived by sisters, Ruth Denton and Nell Jones, both of Tennessee.
She was born the 3rd child of 6 children in Linden, Tennessee. Always adventurous, she left her home, family and friends to work in Memphis Tennessee at the age of 21. There she met John Forese, who was traveling from his home in New York. He was in Memphis briefly but on his way for work in San Francisco. After a 6 week courtship they married in 1941, moved to San Francisco and never looked back. When they saw the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time, they knew they were "home".
Their first daughter, Rosemary, passed in 1958 at the age of 11 from a brief illness. Devastated by this, they stayed strong with the help of many friends and family members. John Forese passed in 1994 from a brief illness.
Although she was widowed she sought comfort and companionship with Bill Frost, also widowed. They enjoyed ten years of happiness before Bills passing in 2010.
Mary was involved in many clubs and enjoyed square dancing for the past 35 years. She loved gardening, cooking for family and had many friends. She especially loved watching the San Francisco Giants win 2 world championships in the last 3 years. Mary was a longtime member of Holy Name Parish and very active in parish activities.

Such a bright spirited lady, always so kind and full of fun. I know her for a long time but she won't tell me how old she was. I'll always miss her in the garden.

May the family find comfort in the memories. Keeping in mind the Scriptural hope of everlasting life can help to sustain us during difficult times (John 17:3)
