On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, Francesco "Cicco" Balistreri passed away at the age of 103. Born to Onofrio and Filippa Balistreri in Porticello (Palermo), Italy on June 23, 1915, Francesco emigrated to the United States in 1956. He worked as a commercial fisherman for several decades plying the waters around San Francisco Bay. He is predeceased by his siblings Giuseppe (Angela), Agata (Baldassaro), Antonio (Margherita), Maria, and Giovanni (Giulia). Survived by many nieces and nephews here and in Italy. A member of the Madonna Del Lume Society.A mass of Christian burial will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert Street, SF on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:30AM. Burial to follow at Italian Cemetery 540 F Street, Colma.
