Audrey Franklin Barbera Obituary
Audrey Franklin Barbera

Audrey Barbera Franklin. Born January 10, 1931, she died peacefully at home on June 27, 2018. She was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Earl Alexander Franklin. Being the daughter of a military doctor, her childhood was spent growing up in many locations throughout the United States until her family finally settled in Piedmont, CA. She attended the College of Holy Names in Oakland, CA and soon after married George Hamlin Barbera. They spent their entire married life in Orinda, CA. Audrey was a docent at the Oakland Museum and a volunteer at the Oakland Children's Hospital. An avid Francophile, she was an accomplished cook and lover of French antiques and design. Her hobbies included a love of the outdoors, tennis, needlepoint and gardening. She was an avid traveler, and she especially enjoyed traveling the world with her favorite Forbes group. Her biggest passion by far was her family, as she was a devoted and adoring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was loved by all who knew her. She leaves behind her daughters, Leslie Ann Barbera and Christine Barbera Schreck (Charles Robert), three grandchildren, Tiffani Nickerson (Bryan), Charles Hamlin Schreck and Audrey Wells Schreck and two great-grandchildren, Bryanna and Olivia Nickerson. Her humor, beauty, grace and her complete joie de vivre will be extremely missed by family and friends alike. Service to be decided at a later date.
