Bella Jung Bella Jung was born on June 3, 1955 in San Francisco. She graduated from Lowell High School and earned her BS degree in business administration from San Francisco State University. With eight years as head cashier for Macys, she joined the Marines' Memorial Club (MMC) as treasurer and worked into her role as CFO until her passing October 31st. Bella was with the MMC for 27 years. After surviving her first bout with a brain tumor in 1982, Bella and Horatio were blessed with raising two lovely daughters, Stephanie and Kristen. A second surgery in 2003 and subsequent gamma knife surgeries did little to deter the growth of new brain cancers. Bella made her transition peacefully at home on October 31, 2007 after celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary on the 30th, leaving a loving and lasting memory for her husband Horatio. She was surrounded by family and friends. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of many. The joy she brought to all those she knew will not be forgotten. A private service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, and a Celebration of Life will take place at the Marines' Memorial Club, 609 Sutter St., SF on Sunday, December 9, 2007, 10am-2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marines' Memorial Association in memory of Bella Jung, Membership & Development.

Bella,
Some of us guys (Donald Woo, Alvin Ng, Munson Fong, Joe Loo) that you knew way back from the Ping Yuen housing project days heard about your illness and we came to visit you on Saturday afternoon, October 27. Horatio was very kind in allowing us to see you so that we may say a few comforting words to you. You were asleep when we spoke to you, but in our hearts, we know that you heard us. Although I and some of the guys had not seen you for many years, I remember you from long ago as a young cheerful woman who with your group of girlfriends was willing to meet and hang around with us project guys. It was a lot of fun back then in the seventies. Those were the days when we were going through the joys and pains of young adulthood. We are sad to hear of your passing. From meeting your family on that Saturday, and from seeing all the words of love from your family, relatives, and friends, we know that while you were here on this earth you deserved the best, and you got the best. Bella, take care, and God be with you.

Dear Horatio, Stephanie and Kristen,
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I knew Bella at Lowell High through her cousin Mabel. As I can recall, Bella was great schoolmate and always had a huge smile. I know how tough it is as I lost my wife of 30 years this past September. I hope you find the strength to move on. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Bella,
We know you are watching over us as we can feel your presence in our home. You will always be in our hearts as we remember the day you introduced me to your brother, the day you and Horatio got married, the days we were both pregnant with our children, the vacations we spent together in New York, Mexico, and Disney World with our families, and the wonderful Girls Night Out trips. We will cherish these fun times we had together. We are blessed to have you as our Angel to watch and protect us. We miss you and will love you forever.
Love,
Sharon, John, Eric and Caitlin

I met Bella at Macy's Union Square. She was my supervisor when I first started working there still in high school and I so admired her. What a truly lovely and intelligent woman she was. My deepest condolences to your family for your loss.

As one of the five Ng's in our Lowell yearbook, I had the spot to the right of Bella. I remember inviting her to attend the 20th reunion and learning of the surgery for that year (1993), but she attended it anyway. I will miss being able to greet Bella at the future reunions. My condolences to the family.

Dearest Bella,

Lowell feels like a blink of an eye ago. I can see your beautiful smile as you spoke in the halls with Aida, Freida, Bob and Melvin. It has been my pleasure and honor to know you these years past. Bless you.

I do not know you but I lost my wife to this dread desease this year and felt I must share your loss and grief. We only had 19 months after she was diagnosed, it comforts me to know that you enjoyed many years. I would like to share a few words which were a great comfort to me: " That for which we weep has been our delight." Bella had a beutiful smile.

Bella will be truly missed... she will always be a true friend, a true heart, always willing to lend a hand or help me from the day I met her... Bella was a big sister to me when I first arrived at SF State University. We all went our own ways in life, but our hearts will be forever. "Bella... Peace be with you".
