George Alfred Roensch

George Alfred Roensch passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Napa, CA on December 28, 2018.

Al was born on December 23, 1935 in Manila, Philippines. During WWII, his family fled the occupation of Manila by living in the jungle for eight months before coming to America aboard the S.S. Monterey.

Al attended St. Anne School in San Francisco and graduated from St. Ignatius high school (1953), where he excelled in academics and track and field and forged many lasting friendships. He received his university and law degrees from the University of San Francisco (1953 - 1960).

After beginning his legal career at a large firm, Al opened a private practice and eventually transitioned into a long career as a business consultant. His work took him to many interesting places and put him in contact with a network of associates worldwide.

Al married Mary Joan Jackson on May 27, 1961. They met while he attended USF and she was at Dominican University. He is survived and loved by Joan and their four children (Greg, Christine, Daniel, and Alfred, Jr.). He is also survived and loved by his second wife, Joanne Ferro, and her daughters (Sarah and Elisa).

Al was predeceased by his beloved parents Adolfo and Mary (Russell) Roensch, and he is survived by his three siblings, Agnes (Malanca), Albert, and Tony.

Memorial donations may be made on Al's behalf to the Jack Ashman Scholarship at St. Ignatius. Please make checks payable to St. Ignatius and mail them to the school at 2001 37th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94116 (include Class of 1953, Jack Ashman Scholarship in the memo).
