James Alfred Carter
Mar 9,1930 - Jan 9, 2021
James "Jim" Carter died after a long illness in the home of family in Middletown DE. Jim was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 9, 1930, the youngest and longest lasting of seven children. He is survived by his east coast and west coast families. Jim graduated from Bensalem High School in 1950. Following four years in the U.S.A.F., he spent five years at the Benedictine Monastery in Conception MO. In 1960 he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and began a long association with Old St Mary's Church in Chinatown serving Mass and later working as the sacristan. In later years, Jim attended his neighborhood church St. Boniface, known for its gospel Mass. Jim was a man of faith and character. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man, who hosted many holiday dinners for friends with nowhere else to go.
Masses will be said in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Napa.
