James Lawrence Bohan Obituary
James Lawrence Bohan

May 1, 1934 - October 5, 2018

Larry Bohan, passed away from cancer on October 5, 2018, surrounded by his coterie of close friends and his "Larry's Ladies" who saw to his well-being in his last few months. Larry was a kind and loving man who enjoyed his years of international folk dancing as an active member of Dolina, Kopachka and Scottish dance groups. Born in Gloucester, Massachussetts, he was a Navy veteran who served aboard an aircraft carrier in the Pacific during the Korean War. He spent his working years employed by the Federal Government in San Francisco and planted his roots in Mill Valley. Larry enjoyed great friendships and meeting with his men's group and especially his coffee group three times a week, most recently at the Mill Valley Depot. He loved music of all kinds and shared his passion by hosting concerts at his house and in his garden for his friends. He was a great supporter of the Russian Chamber Orchestra and did much to publicize and increase attendance at its concerts at the Methodist Church in Mill Valley. Larry will be greatly missed by his many devoted friends and his dog, Gus. Donations in his memory can be made to the Russian Chamber Orchestra, P.O. Box 995, Larkspur, CA 94977, the 142 Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley or Hospice by the Bay, 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Larkspur, CA 94939.
