James Leathers Jr. Obituary
James Leathers, Jr.

Jan. 15, 1942 - June 19, 2018

James "Jim" George Leathers Jr. peacefully passed on June 19, 2018, in his hometown of Woodland, Calif., following a battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
He is survived by his best friend and wife, Carol; three sons, James George III and Cameron of Tahoma, and Mark (Kelly) of Vail, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Tatum and Tessa.

He is also survived by his siblings Timothy Leathers, Joan Rhoads, Mike Leathers, Patrick Leathers, and Scott Leathers, as well as extended family.

Jim was born in Woodland to James and Dorothy Leathers. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1960, received his BA from Willamette University in Salem, OR, his JD from Santa Clara University, and LLM from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He practiced law in San Francisco at Chickering & Gregory and then Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP, before opening his own firm near Lafayette in 1991.

On June 19, 1971, he married Carol, and they raised three sons in San Francisco and Lafayette, before moving to Sacramento and then retiring to Tahoma – a place he treasured.

The focus of his life was to be a supportive husband, father, and grandfather who provided for his family.
