Jean Cormack Obituary
Jean Cormack

September 19, 1929 - July 2, 2018

Jean Sealander Cormack died beautifully and surrounded by her family in Salt Lake City. Jean was born in Bellingham, WA, graduated from Washington State in Bacteriology, and worked in labs in Seattle, San Francisco, and for nearly 30 years at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City. Jean married Douglas in 1957, and they raised their two children, David and Nancy, in San Mateo. Jean was an elder at First Presbyterian Church; she was a proud member of the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women. After Doug's death in 2004, Jean remained very active in San Mateo, volunteering in public schools, driving the elderly, serving at church, and socializing with friends. In 2015 Jean moved to Salt Lake City to be near her daughter and family. Until Jean's dying day, she was most proud of her "seven grandchildren," and always lived by the motto, "Life is full."
She is survived by son David (Michelle) of Manhattan Beach and daughter Nancy (Philip) of Salt Lake, and grandchildren: Sena (Graeme), Cara, Jordan, Andrew, Catherine, Peter, and Michael; also sister Carol. A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, San Mateo on August 25 at 10 AM.
