John Stephen Kelleher (Steve) of San Francisco and Santa Rosa passed away after a short but fierce battle against AML; he was 68. Steve was born in San Francisco, California to Frank and Patricia Kelleher; graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1968 and attended City College. He is survived by his cherished sons John and Dylan Kelleher; brothers, Mark (Holly), Matthew (Nancy), and Joe Kelleher; sister, Mary Bodendorfer (Dave); and his close friend Kris Henderson. He and Kris resided in Santa Rosa at the time of his death. Steve was a caring uncle to nieces Chloe and Tenaya Kelleher; nephews Blake Kelleher, Luke and Will Bodendorfer. Steve lived in the Haight-Ashbury during the mid-seventies and worked as a sound technician at the Fillmore & Winterland; he worked in Kenya, Tanzania and the Sudan as a safari guide and mechanic; and retired from the San Francisco Chronicle where he had worked as a Teamster. Steve had a keen interest in vintage cars, and volunteered for several years at Jimmy's Annual Old Car Picnic and Car Show in Golden Gate Park, he was an avid 49er Faithful! Steve will be missed by his family and many lifelong friends who will remember his sense of humor, and his kind and playful nature.
