Karen Tsuchitani Obituary
Karen Sugako Tsuchitani

Oct 28, 1960 - Sept 10, 2018

Karen Tsuchitani passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. Her health issues limited her stamina and mobility, but not her dogged pursuit of education or travel. Karen graduated from Cupertino High School and attended many courses at De Anza College, and loved collecting, her cats, eating at good restaurants and spending time with her extended family. She was able to travel quite extensively, and saw the U.S. via Amtrak with her aunts and uncles, visited the Grand Canyon, fed the donkeys in Oatman AZ, spent lazy summers in Yosemite, and enjoyed family vacations in Lake Tahoe, Maui, Japan, Disneyland and many of the beautiful parks and museums in Northern California.

Karen was pre-deceased by her father, Allen Yukio Tsuchitani, and her grandparents Satoru and Helen (Nakamura) Murakoshi and Ryuji and Kiku (Kato) Tsuchitani. Karen leaves her mother and lifetime companion and caregiver, Doris Sachi Tsuchitani, her sister Yuri Tsuchitani and brother Wayne Tsuchitani, as well as her sister-in-law Judy, nephew Kai and brother-in-law David Griswold. Karen led a quiet life, but will be missed by all her aunts, uncles, and cousins, who visited often and cared for her for many years. Karen also leaves her cat, Mimi, who is still keeping vigil in her room.
