Lois Riordan Grant

In San Francisco on 8-8-2018 Lois Riordan Grant dearly beloved wife of the late Fred R. Grant; loving daughter of the late John I. and Catherine V. Riordan; cherished sister of Robert O. Riordan and the late Jean Riordan Gorman; loving sister-in-law of the late Martha I. Riordan and the late R. Daniel Gorman M.D.; dear aunt of the late Michael Gorman and Diane Gorman, Timothy, Kathleen and the late Shawn Riordan; loving grand-aunt of Siobhan Gorman Carpenter, Megan Schwartz Breunig, and Tony Schwartz and great grand-aunt of Alexis Carpenter and Elliot Breunig.
A native of San Francisco, she attended St. Agnes Grammar School, St. Rose Academy and Lone Mountain College. Lois was on the staff of UCSF Medical Center for many years as Manager of the Department of Neurology. She was a past president of the UCSF Retirees' Association and served on the Boards of the Auxiliary of Little Sisters of the Poor of St. Anne's Home and the Auxiliary of Little Children's Aid. She and Fred were the first Ambassadors of the Heritage Society at St. Ignatius College Preparatory.
She loved her family and her friends and enjoyed music, traveling, reading, dominoes and spending time at their cottage in Carmel which was such a special retreat for Fred and Lois.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on 8-14-2018 at 10:30 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 2320 Green St. in San Francisco followed by a private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Donations in Lois' memory may be made to the Fred R. Grant Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Ignatius College Preparatory, 2001-37th Avenue San Francisco 94116 or the Jean Gorman Memorial Fund at Heritage on the Marina, 3400 Laguna St. San Francisco 94123.
