Ralph Del Prete Obituary
Ralph John Del Prete

(also lovingly known as "Pappy")

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday evening, September 18th at the age of 88.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lorraine, son Danny Nielson, granddaughters Ashton and Allyn Nielson, niece Susan Silveira, great nieces Amanda Reilly and Adriane Frost, and sister-in-law Antonette Bruno, along with many loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and great-great nieces and nephews!
Ralph was born on May 30th, 1930 in San Francisco, California to Rafaello and Inez (De Santi) Del Prete. He proudly graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory in 1948 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged, Ralph continued his education at San Jose State University where he received his B.A. in Business. He then held employment with the State of California until his retirement.
While enjoying retired life, Ralph took pleasure in spending time with his family and closest friends. He traveled and visited many beautiful places and countries all over the world. Ralph will be remembered for his proud Italian heritage, his financial investment savviness, and his unwavering loyalty to Joe Montana (he even followed the Kansas City Chiefs when Joe was traded!). His "claim to fame" was achieving 3 lifetime holes-in-one, the last of which he made in his 80's.
"A day without pasta is like a day without sunshine."
"Everyone needs an Uncle Ralph."
"Ciao, Bong Bing!"
"This is God!"
The memories we made and time we shared will always be our treasured keepsakes. You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. You will always be but a thought away from us and will live forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, October 21st at 1 o'clock at the Peninsula Italian-American Social Club located at 100 N. B Street in San Mateo. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ralph's life.
As an expression of sympathy, the family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to Sacred Heart Community Service in Ralph's name at 1381 S 1st Street San Jose, Ca 95110.
