Raymond Bly Obituary

Raymond L. Bly Passed away at 88, June 23, after a brief illness. Ray graduated in 1942 from UCLA and immediately entered the US Navy. He went on to retire as Captain from the Naval Reserve. Ray then began a 35 year career with Prudential Insurance Company. He was very proud of taking a principal part in the development of Embarcadero Center. During these years, Ray and his wife, Virginia, lived and raised their two sons in Greenbrae, until work took them to New Jersey, Menlo Park, and finally Pacific Palisades, where he retired as head of Real Estate Investments for the Western Region. They then moved to Carmel Valley and most recently, to Palo Alto. On the weekends Ray was usually to be found on the tennis courts with Ginny. They traveled the world playing tennis, making many new friends. Ray is survived by his wife Ginny; his sons: Don and Tom; their wives, and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a private family Memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray's name may be made to Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA, or University of California at Los Angeles.
