Ronald Merenbach Obituary
July 18, 1949 - June 15, 2018
Ron Merenbach passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday night, after a long battle with the aftereffects of treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma.Ron was born in San Francisco. He graduated from Lincoln High School and UC Berkeley. In his first year at Harvard Law School, hoping to meet a Cliffie who loved music as much as he did, he met his future wife, Ellen, by posting an ad in one of the undergraduate dorms. They were married for forty-six years.
He practiced law in San Francisco for over ten years and later worked as the probate examiner in Santa Rosa until his retirement in 2016. He loved to travel and was a superb trip planner. He was a musical prodigy who could play any melody by ear.
Ron is survived by his wife, Ellen; his son, Andrew; his daughter, Alyssa Deits; his granddaughter, Ziva Deits; his sister, Nancy Zuniga; his brother, Greg; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Salem Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 19th at 11:00.

I was fortunate to have worked professionally with Ron for many years here in Sonoma. He was insightful and knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Above all, he was unfailingly kind and courteous to all he dealt with. May he rest in peace.
