Rosa Bologna Obituary
Rosa Bologna

On August 7, 2018, surrounded by her family, Rosa Bologna took her beloved husband Joseph's hand and joined many of her loving family and friends in heaven.
Rosa was born in Trappeto, Sicily on November 5, 1929 to Filippo and Caterina D'Asaro. She immigrated to America in 1949 and San Francisco became her home for the next 69 years.
Rosa met the love of her life and married in 1950. Her family was her pride and joy. A gourmet cook and sensational baker, no one left her house hungry. Rosa enjoyed knitting, crochet and sewing beautiful clothes for herself and her daughter. Rosa kept extremely busy with travels to Europe, bus trips to the casinos with her friends, as well as her memberships with the senior clubs at Italian Community Services, St. Vincent de Paul and the ICF Branch 38. She would always say, "I had a wonderful time."
Rosa is survived by her devoted children, Anthony (Sharon) and Lorraine (John). She is the loving Nonna of Linda (Peter), Christine (Ryan), Mark and Gregory; and her precious great grandchildren Emma, Grant, Gianna and Luke. Rosa is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Teresa, her brother Jack and his wife Giuseppina.
A special thank you to Rosa's caregivers; Rose, Betty and the staff at the Jewish Home for all their care, kindness, compassion and love.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 666 Filbert Street, San Francisco, CA 94133. The Viewing will start at 10:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment Services will follow at the Italian Cemetery, 540 "F" Street, Colma, CA 94014.
