Veronica Cooke Obituary
Veronica Corinne Cooke

August 6, 1943 to October 26, 2018

Veronica Corinne Cooke passed away on October 26, 2018 following complications after a stroke. Born August 6, 1943 in Detroit to David and Eleanor Cooke, Veronica grew up surrounded by family settling from Pennsylvania to Detroit. Veronica attended Michigan State University and studied ballet in Paris in the late 1960 / early 1970s.

After living in Chicago where she worked in public relations for the Lincoln Park Zoo and subsequently the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Veronica moved to San Francisco in 1986 to join her sister Clare and niece Karen and worked in fundraising for the Raphael House homeless families shelter. Veronica met her long-time loving partner, Bill Sargis, in San Francisco with whom she shared many joyful years and co-owned a racehorse. Good times at the tracks!

Now reunited with Bill, and preceded in death by her parents, brother Peter, and sister Clare, Veronica leaves behind her niece, Karen Noll of San Francisco, nephews David Noll of Lower Lake and Christopher "Kelly" Cooke of Las Vegas, great-nephew Daniel James Noll, Jr. of Michigan, sister Paula Cooke of Hemet, and many beloved cousins and other family across the country.

Veronica was a pure delight, and those who loved her will miss her deeply. Arrangements are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the San Francisco SPCA, 201 Alabama Street, San Francisco, CA 94103. Veronica will always be our sunshine!
