PhotoSCOTT, Georgi (Elizabeth Steele) - 86, went back in spirit to her beloved Hawaii on June 19, 2005. She was born in Paia, Maui, March 3, 1919 and lived there until she boarded at Punahou School in Honolulu, then attended the Univ. of Oregon and the Univ. of Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Emil (her "Scott") Scott, Winthrop Lowell and Charles R. Niebel; her daughter Moana Gay Scott; and her parents, George and Elizabeth Steele. Georgi was interned for three years in the Japanese-occupied Philippine Islands during WWII and liberated on February 23, 1945, by the daring "Los Banos Raid." Afterwards she returned to Los Altos, CA, where her parents had moved. She worked for the US Government attached to NATO in Paris, France and Bonn, Germany; retiring to Carmel, CA. She went into real estate later returning to work at Letterman Hospital, Presidio, SF. Georgi also worked as a volunteer into her late 70s. She is survived by her cousins Christina (Dede) Creveling, Peter Creveling; her nephews Jimmy Moore, Tommy Moore and Clark Argeris; granddaughter, Amber Dawson Hjelm; and great-grand-children, Jordan and Hannah Hjelm. www.cnac.org/emilscott/georgi01.htm Private services have been held.
