Hanna Hochfeld Obituary

Hanna Hochfeld Hanna Hochfeld (nee Norden), age 92, born Jan 7 1919, in Elberfeld, Germany; died Feb 23, 2011 in SF in her home of 17 years, The Carlisle. Devoted wife of the late Josef Hochfeld for 65 years, beloved mother of Frank Hochfeld and mother in law of Hana Koppman. Arrived in the US in 1948 from Tientsin, China where she and Josef lived for 8 years after fleeing Nazi Germany. Her childhood education cut short, she became a prolific student at San Francisco State in the 60 plus program. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be sent to any Jewish charity of your choice or to the Earth Justice Defense Fund at 426 17th St, 6th floor, Oakland, Ca 94612. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, at 1:00 PM at Sinai Memorial Chapel, 1501 Divisadero St. at Geary, San Francisco, followed by interment at Home of Peace Cemetery, 1299 El Camino Real, Colma.
