James Anderson

James Patrick Anderson A San Francisco native of 78 years, left us peacefully on March, 24th after a short illness. He is survived by: George A. Pleasant (Donna) of Belmont, Daniel T. Pleasant of San Francisco, and his Niece, Marie T. Pleasant of Belmont. James lived his whole life in and around San Francisco. He was a student at Mission Dolores Grammar School, Riordan High School, and City College of San Francisco. A life-long parishioner of Mission Dolores Basilica, he played the organ there many times on a guest basis. He was a familiar character in the Mission and around the City. He always ate out at restaurants and frequented the local pubs. Some of his favorites included The Elixer, Double Play, and Muddy Waters. James had a long career with the San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department and was a proud member of his Union Local. Special thanks to his caregivers: The Taraval Care Home, Eden Villa and Pathways Hospice for their care and advice. Friends may call on Thursday after 2:00 pm and are invited to attend the Vigil Service at 8 PM at DUGGAN'S FUNERAL SERVICE, 3434 17TH St. near Valencia St, and the Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30 AM thence to Mission Dolores Basilica where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Committal Cypress Lawn Memorial , Donations preferred to Hanna Boys Center, Box 100, Sonoma, CA 95476-0100
