Obituary Condolences

Mary Fitzgerald (nee Mary Menicucci) passed away on February 13, 2013 at the age of 80. She was born in San Francisco to her parents Frank and Loretta Menicucci, and was one of eleven children.

At the age of 18, Mary decided against working for the family company and decided to join the US Marine Corp and it was there that she met her first husband Charles Durnian.

For the next 20 years marriage to a Corporate Executive required moves from the Bay Area to Salt Lake City, UT; to Glendora, CA; to San Carlos, CA; to Coral Cables, FL; to Barrington Hills, IL and to Paradise Valley, AZ.

In mid-1970's Mary was fortunate enough to become a friend of Bill W and more importantly she met her second love of her life, Donald Fitzgerald. Don and Mary were both involved in working in the alcohol/drug rehab facilities in So.California, Modesto and finally at Duffy's in Calistoga.

Mary was a great mother, grandmother, a best friend, a person who always had the time to listen to someone's problems and a sponsor to many big and small. She loved to play cards especially with her family but also with the Thursday Boy's Poker group.She enjoyed travel to Las Vegas which included laughter with family and friends. She will be missed.

Mary is survived by her children, Roseanne Blanchfield (Tom), Charles Durnian (Tori), Michael Durnian, Patrick Durnian, Brian Durnian (Denny) and Mike Fitzgerald (Kristy). Grandchildren - Jacob LaJoie, Natalie Hall (Jaxin), Gabriele Durnian, Daniel Durnian (Destiny), Kayla Durnian, Joshua Fitzgerald, Sean Fitzgerald and Tyler Fitzgerald.

Survived also by her siblings Allen Menicucci, Grace Lyons (Bob), Carol Baxter (Ron), Joseph Menicucci (Barbara), Judy Murolo (Al) along with numerous cousins, second cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Pre-deceased by her husband Charles Durnian and second husband Donald Fitzgerald as well as her siblings Donald Menicucci, Geraldine Howell, Frank Menicucci, Earl Menicucci and Tom Menicucci.

The family offers a special thank you to the entire staff at Emeritus Memory Care in Santa Rosa and to Hospice of Sutter Care.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vine Village Residential Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled in memory of "Earl Menicucci" P.O. Box 2265 Napa, CA 94559.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Mary's life on Monday, February 25th, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Sausalito Yacht Club, 1 El Portal Sausalito, California. (Adjacent to the Ferry Terminal)
