Michael Seidelhuber Obituary

Michael Joseph
Seidelhuber

Commander Michael Joseph Seidelhuber USNR (9/22/39-8/24/13) leaves a life of laughter, character, and value. As Naval Aviator, Mike flew 192 carrier landings and logged 1,712 active hours landing last on CV20 USS Bennington at Yankee Station, Tonkin Gulf, North Vietnam on 2/6/1966. An industrialist, he and his father, Frank V. Seidelhuber, built Seidelhuber Metal Products to an industry standard while flexing it to capture unique market share from metallurgy to fabrication & finishes; he proved that action creates results.

With inspiration and generosity, Mike served as Ekim to 61' Whitman College Betas, USN Screw-bird VS-33 Iconist, GHCC's Italian Champ, Rotarian, Squire, gigi, dad, brother, cousin, and uncle. He dedicated time and effort to others along his way.

Mike was born in Seattle, Washington; he attended Bellevue High School, Class of 1957, and graduated Whitman College in 1961. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He served in the United States Navy for four years and in the USNR for ten years. Mike joined his father in business in 1968.

He is survived by two sisters: Colleen Seidelhuber Willoughby and Victoria Seidelhuber Coelho; two daughters: Elizabeth Marie Seidelhuber and Christian Jaeger Seidelhuber; and a son, Michael Franz Seidelhuber and his wife, Kathi Ann Matuzek, and their two sons, Michael Conrad and Max William Seidelhuber.

Our extended families welcome and invite you to celebrate the inspiration, passion, and thrill-seeking Mike endowed upon friends, family, and partners.

We played many a golf game with Mike at Green Hills. Mike was a unique gentleman. He will be missed.

Many fond and hilarious (waterskiing, dominoes, bridge, Rotary) memories of Mike during a number of years we were close friends. We both moved away and lost contact. I have often thought of the times we were together. Love and best wishes to Beth, Christie, and Franz from Dave Huggins.
