Jim was born in Queens, NY on October 30, 1933. He died peacefully in his sleep on August 16, 2013 in the San Juan Islands, WA.
Being a graduate of the United States Merchants Marine Academy (Class of '56 in Kings Point, NY), allowed him to travel extensively around the world; his adventures having kept many entertained as he was a superb storyteller. He established Systems Scientific Laboratories in 1967 in New Jersey. In 1977 he moved to California where he continued to operate his business for 33 years.
Jim had a keen intelligence, an extraordinary sense of humor and a quick wit. He was completely unaware of his magnetism to others, which made him even more lovable. He loved boats and he loved people. His extreme charm and charisma made him a favorite among friends and family.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved son Jimmy and a beloved sister, Joan. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Huguette, his daughter Caroline, grandchildren Katrina and Hanson as well as sisters Margaret and Sheila.
A private ceremony to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date. Inquiries and condolences can be made at [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Alzheimer's Association of America.
