Robert W. (Bob) Goodwin

At rest December 19, 2016 in Santa Rosa, California.
Beloved father of Maureen (Jim) Granados, Susan (Andrew) Killeen, Patricia (Ronald) Moresco and Robert M. Goodwin, loving grandfather of Michael, Danielle and Andrew Granados, Macgregor and Braden Killeen, Dominic and Angelo Moresco, and Isabella and Jack Goodwin, dear son of the late John J. and Ethel M. Goodwin.
A San Francisco native, Bob was born March 7, 1935 and was raised in Noe Valley. He began his education at St. Phillip's School, attended St. Ignatius College Prep, and graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. He proudly served as a U.S. Army Presidential Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from 1958 to 1960.
In 1963, he began his business at Reilly Company, Goodwin and Scannell Mortuary on Dolores Street. He remained a dedicated funeral director for 38 years, taking great pride in his work, and guiding and consoling numerous families through their most difficult time.
Upon his retirement, Bob moved to Larkspur where he was an active member of the Italian Catholic Federation, Branch 161. For the last 12 years, he resided in Petaluma, California, where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, walking his dog, gardening, and continually forging new friendships.
Bob was a proud man of deep faith who was devoted to his family, loyal to his numerous friends, and will always be remembered for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He touched numerous lives and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visitation will be held at Adobe Creek Funeral Home, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma on Thursday, December 29th from 2 to 8 pm. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 30th at 11am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 150 St. Joseph Way, Cotati. Entombment will follow the mass at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2930 Bennett Valley Rd, Santa Rosa.
