Rodriguez, Jessica T.
Jessica T. Rodriguez, born on August 18, 1976 in Lynwood, CA. Raised in South
Central L.A., and educated in Berkeley, CA. at the University of California, Berkeley. Jessie, as she was better known by family and friends, won in the game of life. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2010, she began a strong, brave, and courageous battle against the disease. Triumphantly Jessie endured treatments and procedures which left physical scars but they did not break her spirit nor her will! On December 10, 2012, as she took her last breaths of life, her fierce warrior heart beat to a room full of FAMILIA and friends. We will forever remember Jessie's battle with breast cancer as victorious! She is now experiencing life on a greater plateau. One where there is no pain, no limits, the mysteries of life and its universe revealed plainly to see.
Jessie was survived by her beautiful and ever loving parents Marilynn and Dale Hughes, her wonderfully supportive and artistic brother Emiliano Rodriguez, her ever loyal and dedicated fiancé Ivan Mendoza, and thousands of friends who were touched deeply by her presence.

I will always remember Jessie's kind spirit and her lovely smile; how enjoyable it was joking around with her in high school and occasionally running into and talking with her on campus at Berkeley; and how special she made me feel when she selected me to take part in her quinceañera.... I hope that Emilio and her parents, and all her loved ones, find additional strength and peace in the knowledge that her flame continues to burn brightly in those who knew her and were affected, at one time or another, by her genuine goodness. All my love.

I was so saddened to read of the death of someone so very young. My heart and sincere condolences go out to the Rodriguez family. We've never met, but I was touched as I read the life and story of this lovely young woman. I'm sure she will be deeply and profoundly missed. I have a daughter close to the same age and cannot imagine how difficult this must be for you. Please know that our heavenly Father does understand your pain and as "the God of all comfort", He is there for you during your time of need. (1 Cor. 1:3,4) Sincerely
Holly

We will always remember her smile through her loved ones and pictures. RIP Jessie and look after Ivan Mendoza and all of your loved ones and friends and guide them. We will do our part here and fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer and support Team Jessie Rodriguez. I know i didn't know her personally, but i saw her story unfold through the eyes of my friend Ivan and knew what she meant to the world. I say these words from the bottom of my heart cause it hurts me that this happened but know she isn't suffering and hurting no more. Always remember the great memories, say a prayer for the family, friends, give lots of hugs and light candles in her memory. <3
