Obituary Condolences

Ambrose L. "Bocho" Garcia, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died July 18th, 2013 in Redlands. He was 88.
Ambrose was born December 7, 1924 to Florencio and Adelaida Garcia in Brawley, California. He moved to Colton in the 1940s, where he met his wife of 51 years, Gloria, and raised his five children. Ambrose was known for his work ethic, and over the course of his career served as a welder at several companies. He retired from the Colton Joint Unified School District in 1987.
Ambrose was also a third degree knight with the Knights of Columbus, and a member of San Salvador Catholic Church in Colton.
Ambrose will be remembered as a dedicated and devoted family man, whose house was never empty. He was a friend to many, and respected by all.
He is survived by his children Ernie (Christine) Garcia of Redlands, Terry Yanez of Colton, Louie Garcia of Colton, and Cheryl (Randy) Anstine of Highland; grandchildren Damien (Ginger) Aldama of Colton, Gina (Shawn) Bowley of Mission Viejo, Steven (Ayumi) Garcia of Laguna Hills, April (David) Perez of Colton, Melanie (Gustavo) Ruiz of San Bernardino, Adrian Garcia of Riverside, Cootie (Jay) Miller of Redlands, Catherine Garcia of Redlands, Mark Yanez of Colton, Michael Garcia of Colton, and Alyssa Garcia; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Martha (David) Cordero of San Gabriel and Lola (Manuel) Cazares of Brawley; brothers Lupe Garcia of Brawley, Paul (Irene) Garcia of Brawley and Richard (Chavela) Garcia of Brawley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; sons Frankie and Michael; and 10 siblings.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25th, 2013 at San Salvador Catholic Church, 178 W. K St., Colton. Reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus, 740 Pennsylvania Ave., Colton.
