Isidora Reyes Chazaro Obituary
Isidora Reyes Chazaro
Apr. 4, 1907-Feb. 2, 2013
Adored and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. 105 years of laughs, love and generosity-you are already missed.

Isidora Reyes Chazaro was born April 4, 1907 in Durango, Mexico. Her parents Francisco and Donaciana Cardona Reyes immigrated to the United States when she was six months old. They settled in El Monte, California where the family grew to include seven more sisters and a brother. The family eventually relocated to City Terrace where Dora spent most of her life. She attended beauty school and worked many years as a hairdresser in her own beauty shop. She married Louis Chazaro in 1936 and was happily married for 53 years until his passing in 1989. They had one daughter, Lucille Zabel of West Covina.

Dora wore many hats over the years. She worked as a beautician and ran her own business. She served as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. She was an accomplished and successful entrepreneur and had a keen eye for real estate investment-both buying and building apartment units.

Dora loved to laugh, moreover, she could laugh at herself just as easily as at the world around her-her laugh was
contagious! It was a great gift that she shared with others in brightening their day. She was extremely generous with both family and friends. She helped put her grandchildren through college and helped many others along the way who needed the support and a helping hand. She remained active in the Catholic Church and became involved with the Comboni Missionaries in Covina.

Dora is survived by her daughter, Lucille Zabel, son-in-law Robert Zabel, her four grandchildren, Dr. Lynelle Zabel, Dr. Troy Zabel, Darin Zabel and Ciana Wallace, as well as eight great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Covina, CA on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Comboni Missionaries 645 S. Aldenville Covina CA. 91723
