Kleinfeldt, Dorlene K. "Dorie"
Dorlene K. "Dorie" Kleinfeldt, age 89, of Elkhart Lake, passed away early Wednesday morning (Jan. 2) at Plymouth Care Center where she had resided for the past 2 years.
She was born on June 14, 1923 in St. Joe, WI, a daughter of the late John and Amelia Bittner Steffes.
She attended St. Joe grade schools.
She worked as an Assistant Office Manager at St. Anthony's Hospital in Milwaukee and at Borden Foods in Plymouth.
On October 1, 1960 she married Orvin W. Kleinfeldt in St. Cloud, WI. The couple resided in Plymouth until 1965, moving to the Town of Rhine.
Her husband preceded her in death on July 1, 1993.
Dorlene was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake and was very active in the Christian Mother's Society at the church.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bowling, baking, bird watching, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
She also spent her time volunteering at church, school and wherever there was a need.
Survivors include One son: Peter Kleinfeldt (Special friend: Venessa Robinson) of New Holstein; One daughter: Maureen Grim (Special friend: Jeff Walcott) of Plymouth; Two grandchildren: Garrett and Kathryn Grim; Three brothers: Julian (Rosemary) Steffes of St. Cloud, Paul (Martha) Steffes of New Berlin and Ralph (Darlene) Steffes of LaCrosse; Two Sister-in-laws: Judy (Robert) Johanning of Town of Plymouth and Kay (Daniel) Schmitz of Kiel.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Roland, Cletus and David Steffes; two sisters: Angie Burg and Myrtle Hall; three brother-in-laws: Russel Botsch, John Burg and Frances Hall and one sister-in-law: Regina Botsch.
Funeral Mass of will be held on Monday morning (Jan. 7) at 11:30 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the CHURCH in the Resurrection Chapel from 10:00 A.M. on Monday until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Dorlene's name.

Sympathy to the Kleinfeldt and Steffes families. I'm Mary (Wehner) Schoemer, Albert and Stella (Bittner) Wehner's daughter. Haven't seen cousin Dorlene for many, many years but remember what a wonderful personality she had!

I have wonderful memories of Dorie, such a caring woman who went out of her way to help out family and friends! I am blessed to have known her. She will be truely missed by many. Pete, Maureen, and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

We were blessed to have Dorie as our next door neighbor for more than 30 years. She was the perfect neighbor, maintaining a beautiful lawn, watching over our house when we were away and occasionally appearing at our door with a plate of cookies. We remember her fondly.
