William Kaemmer Obituary

Kaemmer, William "Bill"

William "Bill" E. Kaemmer, 82, of Sheboygan, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. Bill was born January 20, 1935 in Sheboygan to William A. and Marie (Smith) Kaemmer. Bill was a graduate of Central High School. On June 30, 1956 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Kathleen Kuehlmann.

Bill followed in his father's footsteps and became the owner of the family business, Kaemmer Food Service, which was started by his grandfather Arthur Kaemmer. Bill retired in 2009. Not only was he a hard working businessman, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a wonderful sense of humor and the gift of gab. Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and travel in his motorhome up north were some of his many enjoyments in life. He was the Charter Captain of the "Chicks Delight", had a 1957 Robins Egg Blue T-Bird that he loved taking out for rides, his need for speed, had him spending time at the racetrack watching his grandchildren race, or enjoying an afternoon at home watching NASCAR. Bill truly enjoyed his yard and all the animals it attracted, especially the deer he fed and watched out the window. He was active in the Snowmobile Club, the Antique Snowmobile Club, and the Smerkes Sportsman Club.

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kay, by his children; Debora (Scott) Thiel, Billy (Tammie) Kaemmer, Carol (John) Haese, and Dan (Tracey) Kaemmer, by his six grandchildren; Rebecca (Matt) Flynn, Scotty (Alyssa Cullen) Thiel, Kim Kaemmer, John Paul Haese, Nick Kaemmer, and Nathan Brion, by his great-granddaughter Elena Brion, brother Robert (Ginger) Kaemmer, sister Donna (Tom) Knabe, brother-in-law Bob (Sandy) Kuehlmann, sisters-in-law, Betty Kuehlmann and Margie Kuehlmann, special friend Pat Schroeder, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, brothers-in-law Edwin and Fred Kuehlmann, and sisters-in-law Ruth (Ron) Laetsch and Joan (Charles) Kostmerchock.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan. A private family burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Bill's name.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Pine Have Christian Home for all of their care, concern, and support they gave to Bill and his family.

It is with many fond memories as Bill and I grew up attending Jefferson Grade school. All through out kindergarten up to eight grade Bill and I were close friends. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kaemmer family and friends at this sad time in your lives.
