Raab, Arnold (1935-2016)

Arnold J. Raabm, age 80, of Cascade passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 26, 2016.

He was born in Pittsville, WI on August 26, 1935, son of the late John and Elsie (Stover) Raab. Arnold was the oldest son of 14 kids.

On, October 17, 1956, he married Carol Sauer in Marshfield, WI. The couple lived in Cascade for 42 years on the "A Raabs Ranch". Carol preceded him in death on April 27, 2016.

Through the years they had a full life. They were involved with many horse activities with their business. They did sleigh and carriage rides for weddings and many parades including the Great Circus Parade in Milwaukee, meeting Ernest Borgnine, Elizabeth Montgomery and Tom Wopat! They also did sleigh rides for company picnics and lots of rides at the house. He was a longtime member of the Rolling Rims Buggy Club.

Arnold worked at Kohler Company for 52 years, and was the "Keeper of Stall 1" in the Pottery Division.

He has had horses ever since he was a young boy. His life revolved around his horses, his carriages, and his loving family. Along with hooking up horses and taking people for rides, he also enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and his 1963 Thunderbird.

He is survived his children: Roxane who helped take care of Arnold after Carol's passing, Carmen (Chad, Brent, Amanda and great granddaughter Audrina), Tammy (Kayla and Selena), Lisa (Stephanie and fiancé Shane and son Jason), Rick and his wife Lanna (Brandon and Brittany "Arnetta" his Granddaughter/Best Friend and Sidekick. She was his pride and joy.); brothers: Allen (friend: Shirley), Gary Lee (Sally), Dick (Laurie), Bill (Sandy), Mike (Sue), Dennis (Sue) Randy (friend: Judy) and Doug (Sue); sisters: Barbara Pike, Doreen (Bill) Lauer, and Diane (Dave) Pukrop; sisters-in-law: Ruth Churney and Joyce Wright; brothers-in-law: Donald Tykac, Mark Sauer and Leon Sauer.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arnold was preceded in death by his wife: Carol, his parents, brother: Jerry Raab, sisters: Donna Rae Tykac and Tina Raab, sisters-in-law: Jan Raab, Deanne Hawley and Kathy Olsen; brothers-in-law: Les Pike, Ken Sauer and his granddaughter: Tonya Schram.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (June 30, 2016) at 6:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Thursday (June 30) from 2:00 P.M. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Arnold's name.
