Carolyn Zabel

Sheboygan - Carolyn M. Zabel, 80, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Carolyn was born on September 25, 1940, in Sheboygan to Robert and Ruth (Roewardt) Wagner. She graduated from Central High School in 1958.

On July 7, 1962, Carolyn was united in marriage to Richard Zabel in Sheboygan. Richard preceded her in death on August 10, 2010.

Carolyn was a homemaker, raising her eight sons. She enjoyed puzzles, baking, crossword puzzles, and watching her sons play softball. Carolyn was known for her great sense of humor.

Carolyn is survived by her seven sons, Dave (AnnaMae) Zabel, Rodney (Tammy) Zabel, Richard Zabel, Bob (Michelle) Zabel, Paul (Tracy) Zabel, Peter (Jodi) Zabel, Steve (Mary Lou) Zabel; 24 grandchildren, Jason, Alicia, Sarah, Josh, Ashley, Crystal, Matthew, Rachel, Hunter, Alex, Ryan, Paige, Logan, Aaron, Madison, Benjamin, Jareb, Sommer, Arianna, Bristol, Mason, Samantha, Chase, Hayley; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gail (Roger) Pantel, Linda (Michael) Gort; brother, Robert (Nancy) Wagner; and close family friend, Stacy Dean. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son, Thomas; and parents.

A graveside service will be held at Lutheran Cemetery on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
