Francis "Franny" B. Pitzen

Shawano - Francis "Franny" B. Pitzen, age 84, of Shawano, formerly of St. Cloud, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 27, 2021.

He was born June 2, 1936, in the Town of Marshfield to Joseph & Esther (Simon) Pitzen.

He attended New Holstein High School.

On October 26, 1957, he married Theresa Wollersheim at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Peter.

Franny worked briefly at Kohler Company. In 1960, he became employed at C.D. Smith where he remained until his retirement in 1997.

Franny was a former member of the St. Cloud Volunteer Fire Department and the Riverside Hunting & Fishing Club. Franny & Theresa were currently members of St. Martin's of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil, WI. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. He spent many hours on Shawano Lake where he immensely enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; his children, Joan (James) Rosenthal, Janet Lefeber, Tom (Patti) Pitzen, Jerry (Cindy) Pitzen, and Lori (Mark) Kuhn; his 12 grandchildren, James III (Amy) Rosenthal, Scott (Taryn) Rosenthal, Angela (Dan) Smith, Laura (Kyle) Gehrke, Kimberly (Paul) Servais, Jacki (Mike) Brice, Jamie Pitzen (special friend, Preston), Sarah (Michael) Kolbe, Kelli Pitzen, Rachel Pitzen, Kayla (Evan) Weber, and Adam Kuhn; 15 great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Addison, Brady, Stella, & Ada Rosenthal, Mara & Finley Smith, Carter Gehrke, Levi & Dax Servais, Hudson & McKinley Brice, Brock, Colton, Halle Kolbe and the 16th great-granddaughter expecting in June; his sisters, Mary Guelig & Carol (Ronald) Steffes; his sister-in-law, Kathy (LeRoy) Reiser; and a brother-in-law, David (Dorothy) Wollersheim. He is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph & Esther Pitzen; his infant daughter, Mary Pitzen; his son-in-law, Kevin Lefeber; his brother, Walter (Liz) Pitzen; his brother-in-law, Harold Guelig; two nephews, Paul & Bernie Guelig; and his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ervin & Esther Wollersheim.

A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church, 924 Main Street, St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap will preside. Franny will be laid to rest in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery following the service.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Franny's family at the church in St. Cloud Saturday morning, March 6th from 10:00 AM until 12:45 PM.
