Frieda Gnutow, age 88, passed away peacefully from Parkinson's Disease on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice. She was born on June 29, 1925 in Smolensk, Russia to parents Karl and Marie (Richter) Becker. Frieda married Simon Gnutow October 6, 1947 in Germany. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1961. She worked at Wigwam Mills for 32 years where she established many friendships with other German decented women. Frieda and Simon are longtime members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan.

Frieda was an avid gardener through out her life. She was a great baker and loved reading. In retirement she volunteered at the Salvation Army Store. Frieda always enjoyed spending time with her family especially the grandchildren, whom when they were little wanted to runaway to grandma's house. Frieda was a gentle and loving person to everyone. Her family and friends will miss her.

Frieda is survived by her husband of 66 years, Simon, four children; Cornelia Thompson, Edward (Kathy) Gnutow, Valentina (Jim Nytes) McGrath and Janet (Steve) Drury, five grandchildren; Tim (Becky) Thompson, Amee (Todd) Dulmes, Amanda Thompson, Kim (Scott) Peterson and Stacey Brost, eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, brother Alex (Neddy) Becker. Also loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Emma Kell and brother-in-law Alex Kell.

Gathering will be held at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) on Monday, January 13, from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Memorial Service at 6:00 PM with Rev. John Berg presiding. Memorials are appreciated to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Please visit to sign the guestbook.
