Sheboygan - Gertrude C. Rindfleisch, age 93, of Sheboygan, died on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was born in Detroit, MI on August 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Edgar and Edna Jung Miesfeldt.

Gertrude and her family moved to Sheboygan when she was a little girl. She attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1942. After high school she worked for Citizens State Bank and the Law Offices of Jake Federer.

On June 29, 1946 she was united in marriage to Frederick Rindfleisch in Sheboygan. Gertrude then became a full-time homemaker to raise her three children, Ron, Judy and John. Gertrude returned to work in 1969 and was employed as a sales associate at Sears until her retirement in 1987. Frederick preceded her in death in November of 2001.

She was an avid bowler and still bowled in league bowling until she was 90. Gertrude was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed dancing with Fred, playing cards, dominoes and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gertrude was an active member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Sheboygan. She volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, served in the altar guild and helped in the church office.

Survivors include her children, Ron (Grace) Rindfleisch, John (Glenda) Rindfleisch, both of Sheboygan, Judy (Chuck) Hahn, of Grand Rapids, MI; seven grandchildren, Mark (Bobbi) Rindfleisch, of Stillwater, MN, Eric Rindfleisch, of Onalaska, WI, Brandon (Hope) Hahn, of Kansas City, KS, Laura (BJ) Macartney, of LeHigh Acres, FL, Karen (Adam) Wiseman, of Grand Haven, MI, Rebecca (Andy) Sharpe and David (Amy) Rindfleisch, both of Sheboygan; fifteen great-grandchildren, Isabel, Elliot, Elliott, Eleanor, Jonah, Megan, Molly, Charlie, Joshua, Samuel, Henry, Daphne, Harvey, Joey and Emmalynn; and her sister-in-law, Betty Richards, of Sheboygan. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frederick.

A funeral service for Gertrude will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, 3215 Saemann Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Dr. Roger Mealiff officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Entombment will take place in the Garden Terrace Mausoleum at Lutheran Cemetery.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to the wonderful staff at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Gertrude's name and may be directed to Fresh Meals on Wheels or Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
