Michael D. Wagner

Michael was born on December 3, 1955 to Fredrick and the late LaVerne Wagner and passed away on October 8, 2014 at the age of 58. He graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1974. Michael was united in marriage to Barbara on August 19, 1994 in Sheboygan. During his working years he was employed at Bemis for over 25 years and was the owner/operator of Made in the Shade Canopy Rental for 14 years. He was a member at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church for most of his life. He enjoyed kite flying and was the president of the Wisconsin Kiters Association for the past few years; they were recently recognized by American Kiters Association in 2014. Michael also enjoyed bowling. He was the president of the Sheboygan Bowling Association for over 10 years and was even in the Sheboygan Bowling Hall of Fame. When he wasn't flying kites or bowling you could find Michael waterfowl and deer hunting, ATVing, racing at the Plymouth Dirt Track, golfing at Town and Country for his golf league for Team Heidenreiter, or cheering for the Packers. Michael was also a proud member and sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, but more than anything he loved being a grandpa.

Michael is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara; children Tonya (Charles) Crook of Kiel, CaSondra (Richard) Gimbi of Kiel, Joshua (Shelly) Koalenz, Beth (fiancé Prince Barrow) Koalenz and Michael Tauschek of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren, Havana, Avril, Gabryela "Imma", Conrad, Jayden, Keegan, Grayson, Braxton, Jasmine and Drew; father Fredrick; siblings, Deb Tanis, Christine (John) Jensema, John (Carol) Wagner, Theresa (Steve Zaccard) Winter; nieces and nephews, Jamie Kalleward, Jennifer Wagner, Angela Wessels, Justin Tanis, Heather Wagner, Rachael Jensema and Chase Owen; great-nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Bernice Ingram and Mary Phillips; brothers-in-law Steven and Miles Phillips; best buds, Verne Heidenreiter, Steve Duehring and Dennis McCue and his faithful companion Mandi. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Michael is proceeded in death by his mother, LaVerne Nytes; stepfather, Robert Nytes; stepmother, Rose Wagner; father-in-law, Harold Phillips and mother-in-law Lillian Phillips.

Visitation will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th St. Sheboygan, on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and will continue on Monday, October 13, 2014 at church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Memorial Mass at 10:30 A.M.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Town of Sheboygan First Responders, the Orange Cross Ambulance EMT's and the staff in the Emergency Room at St. Nicholas Hospital.
