Charles A. Gotchy Jr.

Sheboygan - Charles Albert Gotchy, Jr., 96, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at Morningside Health Services in Sheboygan on Monday evening, April 26, 2021.

Charles was born on July 26, 1924, to Charles and Myrtle (Lowe) Gotchy in Antigo, WI. He attended school in Minocqua. After graduation, Charles enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and served in Okinawa from 1943-1946. On October 18, 1947, he married Virginia Witt in Minocqua.

When Charles and his family moved to Sheboygan, he worked as a plumber - first for Winter Plumbing and Heating, and then retiring from Aldag Plumbing.

Charles enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, and was very proud to have traveled to every state in the U.S. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, a Boy Scout Leader, and was a member of the Mason Lodge #242 in Rhinelander.

Charles is survived by his two sons, David Gotchy, Hickory, NC and Gary (Mary) Gotchy, Glendale, AZ; four daughters, Linda (Doug) Hardesty, Sun City, AZ, Paula (Steve) Siefert, Sheboygan, Mary Beth (Allan) Jentsch, Sheboygan and Sarah (Tim) Goetsch, Sheboygan; 11 grandchildren, Todd (Stacey), Scott (Emmy), and Justin Gotchy, Emily (Dean) Sprenger, Natalie (Steve) Sargent, Charles Jentsch, Courtney (Peter) Bartzen, Matt (Jamie) Siefert, Ryan (Summer) Gotchy and Brian and Eric Goetsch; great-granddaughters, Jade Gotchy, Charlotte Sargent, Gracie Gotchy, Eleanor Bartzen, and Alexandra Gotchy; great-grandsons, Luke Gotchy, Connor Gotchy, Haiden Gotchy, Tucker and Colt Gotchy, Oliver Bartzen, Parker Sprenger, and Ben Sargent; two sisters-in-law, May Shotwell, Medford, OR and Dorothy Bice, Virginia Beach, VA; and many other relatives and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Virgina; parents; siblings, Loretta (Sterling) Anderson, Howard (Elaine) Gotchy, Richard (Barbara) Gotchy; and daughter-in-law, Katy Gotchy.

A Funeral Service for Charles will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 12:00 PM at St. Luke United Methodist Church, (623 Ontario Avenue, Sheboygan) with Rev. Cindy Thompson officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, at the church, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
