SHELBY- Bobby Lee Blanton, Sr., 85, died Friday August 31, 2018 at Hospice of Carolina Foothills in Forest City. A native of Cleveland Co. he was born to the late Kermit and Zuda Jones Blanton. He was a longtime member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Friendship. He was also a member of Friendship Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rites. He was also one of the founding members of the Shelby Rescue Squad. He loved fishing and farming.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Charlie Blanton and grandson Christopher Blanton.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth Davenport Blanton, of the home; sons, Bob Blanton, Jr. and wife Rebecca Reger of Shelby, Jimmy Blanton and wife Beverly of Mooresboro and Billy Blanton and wife Linda of Boiling Springs; daughter Patsy Clay of Shelby; daughter-in-law Charlene Blanton; six grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; and his fur baby Peanut.
FUNERAL SERVICES: A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
