She was a member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church and took mission trips to Honduras. She donated time and money to an orphanage in Africa and supported a child for 20 years. We grieve the loss of Nancy, who was an enthusiastic sailor and a good friend, and a brave fighter against the cancer that took her life. She and Tommy will always be a part of our memories of sailing Hobies when we were young and felt invincible. The love of it all is never lost. Steve & Margaret Kiemele

Tommy Whiteside and I worked together for almost 25 years. Nancy was a very supportive wife and confidant to her late husband as well as a loving mother. She also had a significant life of hobbies that included competitive sailing.

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, there is a rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar . . .
