Homer, LA: Funeral services will be held for Curtis Otto Hinze, 85, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Willard Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Tulip cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th St. on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Hinze was born July 13, 1928 to Curtis & Lela Mae Hinze. He passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, while fishing on his dock on Lake Claiborne, on his 85th birthday. Mr. Hinze was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving on the 224th Infantry Regiment and was a member of the VFW. He was a member of the Arizona Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His career affiliated him with United Gas for many years and was retired from Wanda Petroleum/Enterprise as a Supervisor.

Mr. Hinze was preceded in death by his parents; and a step-son, Mike Hollis.

He is survived by his wife Freda Hughes Hinze of Homer; one son, Curtis O. Hinze, Jr. of Canyon Lake, TX; one God-son, Bo Jarod Lester and wife Jade of Breaux Bridge, LA; two step-sons, Ted Hollis and wife Stephanie of Shreveport and Steve Hollis and wife Terri of Haughton; one step-daughter, Nancy Doerner of Shreveport; one step-daughter-in-law, Janice Hollis of Haughton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Lester, Bo Lester, Steve Hollis, Ted Hollis, Jason Doerner and Brian Hollis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry White, Willie Lester, Emmett Adkins, Julius Hinze, David Simons and Olen Prince.
