Dear Brenner family,
Please know that over the years Mr.Henry and all the Brenner family have given the Fertitta family many sweet memories. We shall never forget our times that we spent serving Muffys to your family, and enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren and how proud he was about all their accomplishments. May Mr. Henry rest in peace and prayers for the family during this difficult time. Sending love to all. Agatha Fertitta McCall and Fertitta family.

A true gentleman. He cared truly cared about others. He was my friend in more ways than I can remember. “He made my life better!” Is the best way I can explain what he did for me over the years. I am glad to have known him. Hank, I will pray for you and your family as I know he would want that.

Mr. Brenner has always held a special place in my heart. I had not seen him in a very long time but he was a man I would never forget. I worked at Brenner's for a short time in 1978. I was a young, single mom trying to make ends meet. I used to get strep twice a year like clockwork. I was sick but could not afford to miss work. The other ladies were pretty much covering my work for me. I had my head down on the desk and Mr. Brenner came in to the store. He asked me if I was sick and I told him yes. He asked if I had been to the doctor and I told him I couldn't afford to go to the doctor. He told me to get on the phone now, make and appointment, do not clock out, and go. He said to have them send the bill to him and that he would be in his office so they could call him if they needed verification. I will never forget his kindness when I needed it.
I left Brenner's for another job and a few years later, moved to the Dallas area to attend school. Somehow he found out about it when I graduated in the mid-80's. He contacted my aunt and uncle, who he knew, to get my mailing address. I received they nicest note from him telling me how proud he was of me and how he knew that I would do well in life. I still have his letter.
My heart goes out to all of Mr. Brenner's family and friends. I know that he will be missed but he will never be forgotten.

The Final Salute
“Brothers and Sisters-in-Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Henry Leon Brennwe, Sr. our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Henry. To Henry it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S. Navy. Henry, we commend you for your honorable military service, for your many years as a successful business entrepreneur and as a patron within the ArkLaTex Arts community. You are a true patriot, who served your nation and your community with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. GOD Bless you. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, the VFW Comrades of Post 4588 and the Disabled Veterans of DAV Chapter 30 in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Henry’s family and loved ones.

I just adored Henry Brenner. He was one of my father's, Andrew Querbes, Jr. best friends. He was the perfect gentleman, always. It seemed I would always run into him when he was well when I visited Shreveport.
He was so handsome, always a kind word and what a wonderful smile. I wish there were more Henry Brenners in the world today. He will be missed. I wish I was there so I could honor him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. What a legacy he left for all of us. Renee Querbes Farren
