Anne Oden Hall Obituary
Anne Oden Hall

(Mrs. Pike Hall, Jr.)

Anne Oden Hall passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016. She was married for 48 years to Justice Pike Hall, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1999. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6 pm on Thursday, November 17, at Osborn Funeral Home on Southern Avenue. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Park Cemetery.

Anne was also preceded in death by her parents, Weyman Haddon Oden and Alice Hortman Oden; her brother, Weyman H. Oden, Jr.; her daughter, Brevard Hall Knight; and her niece, Kathryn Ellen Oden.

Anne was born in Haynesville, LA and moved to Shreveport in 1936 when she was five years old. She attended C.E. Byrd High School (Class of 1950) where she was a Yellow Jacket cheerleader, colonel of the ROTC and Football Sweetheart. She briefly attended Mary Baldwin College in VA and transferred to LSU Baton Rouge where she was an LSU Beauty and a member of Chi Omega sorority. Anne and Pike married in 1952 and settled in Shreveport after he completed law school in Baton Rouge. She was a devoted wife who was the backbone of Pike's campaigns, particularly during his first run for the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal in 1975. One of their favorite pastimes was spending time with each other and family at the Stateline Hunting and Fishing Club. Anne spent many years on the board of Stateline and was devoted to the maintenance and care of the club. Anne was also an avid golfer. She and Pike enjoyed many days on the golf course at Shreveport Country Club and took many out-of-town trips to various golf courses with their long-time golfing group.

Anne was a very generous and loving mother to her two children. She was an excellent cook, gardener, volunteer and organizer. She held memberships in the Junior League of Shreveport, the Shreveport Bar Association Auxiliary, Shreveport Women's Golf Association and Chi Omega Alumni. She was especially proud that her younger sister, daughter, four granddaughters, a niece, and a great-niece all followed in her Chi Omega footsteps. Anne was also a member of First United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where she served on the Eternal Flame Committee.

Anne is survived by her son, Pike Hall III and his girlfriend, Kelly Renee Lalonde of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; her grandchildren, Kathryn Knight Wood and husband, David, Emily Knight LeBlanc and husband, Scott, Alice Brevard Knight and fiancé, Michael Reed, Regan Hall Baker and husband, Michael, and Pike Hall IV; her great-grandchildren, Caroline Anne Wood, Camille Andrews Wood, Mary Collins Baker, Carvey Anne Baker and Grayson Cole Hall; her sister, Lillian Oden Breard and husband, Syl; and her sisters-in-law, Margaret Leary Oden and Hazel Hall Schaffer. She is also survived by nieces, Amie Jones Springmeyer and husband, Jeff, and Verien Elizabeth Schaffer; and nephews, Bryson D. Jones, Jr. and wife, Wendy and Weyman H. Oden, III.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Wood, Scott LeBlanc, Michael Reed, Michael Baker and Pike Hall IV.

We would especially like to thank Charlene Vaughn, Anne's devoted care giver and friend, who has been by her side for the last six years.

In lieu of flowers, it is Anne's wish that memorials please be sent to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1567, Shreveport, LA 71165 or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center - Lung Cancer Research, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210.
