Ella Mae Larance Freeman

Shreveport - Ella "Mae" Larance Freeman, age 86, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. "Mae" was born July 22, 1934 in Vienna, Louisiana to Lila Frasier and L.A. Larance.

Mae was a beloved mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mae worked as a teacher and librarian throughout her life. She was a devoted Christian and enjoyed being active in church.

Mae is survived by her sons Rick Freeman and Larry Freeman; daughter Kathy Harris; sisters Edwina Melder and Barbara Needum; grandchildren Tracy Hager, Daniel Nelson, Jeffery May, Buddy Freeman, Sara Freeman and Gabby Freeman Allen. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard "Dick" Freeman and granddaughter Dollie Mae Freeman.

A graveside service for Mae will be held Tuesday, January 12 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Honoring her as pallbearers are Jeffery May, Buddy Freeman, Caleb May, Cade Camp, Steve Hager and Frank Freeman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Mae Mae Freeman Scholarship Program, C/O Pea Ridge Schools, 1925 W. Pickens Road, Pea Ridge, Arkansas 72751 US.
