SHREVEPORT,LA-Funeral services for Gail Atkins, 67, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Spirit Wind Ministries, 5280 Benton Rd., Bossier City, LA; with Rev. Truman Smith and pastor Bobbie Deen officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Gail was born May 29, 1945 in Caples, W VA, and entered into rest July 28, 2012 in Shreveport. She was a resident of Shreveport, a homemaker, and a member of Spirit Wind Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Bertha Felts; brothers, Arnold and Elwood Felts; and a sister, Nadine Williams.

Survivors include her husband of thirty two years, Charles Atkins; three children, Tammy Brown of Shreveport, LA; Richard Brown of Benton, LA; Larry Brown and wife Rachel of Bossier City, LA; Four sisters, Gloria Smith and husband Truman of Ft. Wayne, IN; Joyce Shirley and husband Johnny of Linden, NC; Sue Racine and husband Jimmy of Port Deposit, MD; Kathy Cooper and husband Jim of Aberdeen, MD; two grandchildren, Bella Cathryn Brown, Anderson James Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Richard Brown, Larry Brown, Ronnie Myers, Chase Myers, Wayne Moseley, Micah McCann, and Johnny Estes.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandson, Anderson James Brown and friend, Charles Leach.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Louisiana Home Health Care, for their kind and devoted care.
