VILLE PLATTE, LA (SHREVEPORT, LA)- Funeral services will be held for Jackie Walker Durr, 88, of Shreveport at Brookwood Baptist Church in Shreveport at 11:00 a.m. the 29th of November, 2008. Pastor Mark Sutton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forest Park West Cemetery.

Mrs. Durr's family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Southside Friday, November 28, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

A native of Shreveport and a homemaker, Mrs. Durr died November 26, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Ville Platte, LA after a long illness. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family.

Survivors include one son, Donald Ray Durr and his wife, Adriana of Brazil; one daughter Sheilda Tassin and her husband Dr. Adam John Tassin, Jr. of Ville Platte, LA; four granddaughters, Renee Soileau and her husband Mitch, Tammy Fontenot and her husband Shannon, all of Ville Platte, LA, Debbie Mathis and her husband Bryan, Kristen Renfroe, all of Tifton, GA; one grandson, Wesley Oden King of Turkey Creek, LA; four great-grandsons, Glen Chaddrick and his wife Haley of Turkey Creek, LA, Seth Briley and Wyatt Fontenot of Ville Platte, LA, Alex Renfroe of Tifton, GA; seven great-granddaughters, Katie Floyd and her husband Daniel, Mollie and Sarah Mathis, all of Tifton, GA, Ashley Briley, Brittany and Alivia Fontenot, all of Ville Platte, LA; Sydia King of Turkey Creek, LA; three great-great-grandchildren, Victoria and Cody Chaddrick of Turkey Creek, LA and William Floyd of Tifton, GA.

Mrs. Durr was preceded in death by her husband, William Oden Durr and her daughter, Virginia Elizabeth Durr.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Durr, Mitch Soileau, Shannon Fontenot, Wesley "Bubba" King, Glen Chaddrick, and Seth Briley Rose-Neath Funeral Home
